FREE MISC. LESSON - “Fall Freebie”

by Kathy Babineau
Pre-Kindergarten - 4th Grade

Keep students motivated and engaged with this versatile, easy to use activity. Students can monitor their own progress in a fun, fall-themed format.
This freebie contains:
  • black and white corn on the cob scene mat
  • black and white pumpkin patch scene mat
  • black and white small cut-apart manipulative candy corn and pumpkin pieces
  • photos of an alternate way of using this product using candy
  • credits page
To use this product: print copies of the scene mats and if using the printable manipulatives print/copy those pages as well. Instruct students to prepare small manipulatives by cutting apart the small pieces (they can color them too if you wish). As students answer questions, produce target sounds, contribute to discussion (really whatever you are targeting), allow them to place one candy corn (if using the corn cob scene) or one pumpkin (if using the pumpkin patch scene) per response. Alternatively, if you choose, you can skip the small manipulative pages and use real candy instead. I bought a couple bags of the candy pumpkins and candy corn. It’s your choice. There is lots of flexibility with this product. You can use this in 1:1 tutoring or therapy, in small groups, or in whole class activities. This activity was originally designed for speech therapy, but works equally well for all subjects.
I sincerely hope you and your students enjoy this product! Please let me know what you think by leaving feedback! Happy Fall :)

FREE MISC. LESSON - “German Authors Jigsaw Puzzles (Great End And Start of School Year Activities}”

by J MASON EMERSON
6th - 12th Grade

GERMAN AUTHORS JIGSAW PUZZLES is a set of three cut-out jig-saw puzzles for helping students learn famous German authors. Select the DOWNLOAD PREVIEW to see a sample.

What you do after a purchase is scroll down to see the puzzles, then once there print a copy of one then cut its parts out along the lines. Reassemble the parts by gluing or pasting the pieces onto a different sheet of paper. It’s that simple. Repeat whenever you want to use the other two cut-out jigsaw puzzles, too.

The students are actively engaged in manipulating the material in a fun way, so there's more of an attention span with learning.

FREE MATH LESSON - “Regrouping Using American Money”

by Diamond Mom
2nd - 3rd Grade

Regrouping is a difficult concept for some children to understand. Using manipulatives helps, but I find that using money makes it easier for the children to visualize the exchange of ones, tens and hundreds.
It also connects them with real examples of Math in their world.

When referring to trading ones for tens and tens for hundreds, I tell the students that they need to go to the bank. They need to deposit their pennies and get a dime or deposit their dimes and get a dollar.

When referring to changing a ten into ones, I use the analogy of going to the bank and trading a dime for 10 pennies.

Check out some of my other money products.
