FREE MATH LESSON - “Counting Caterpillars - Learn Numbers 1-20”

by Teaching Products
Pre-Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

This is a great activity to teach students about numbers and counting!

Students will create a numbered caterpillar while learning about any of the following:
Numbers 1-20 (you could only use numbers 1-5 or 1-10 if your students aren't ready for 1-20)
Skip counting - count by twos or fives
Counting backwards
You could also use this as an assessment piece to add to student portfolios

Your students will also practice improving their cutting and pasting skills while completing this activity.

These look great on the classroom walls once they're finished!

FREE SCIENCE LESSON - “Mystery Periodic Table”

by Texas Science Gal
8th - 11th Grade

This is a puzzle that encompasses much of what is learned in middle school and high school about the periodic table including energy levels, the different families and groups, along with other specific traits of different elements.

Instead of the traditional symbols of the periodic table, they are replaced with arbitrary letters and must fill in a blank periodic table with those new letters based on a list of traits. This is an end of the unit worksheet that requires a lot of thought processing from the students and will get conversations going about the periodic table to figure out which element goes where.

This is great way to challenge the student's understanding as it is not route memorization but an understanding of the different principles of the periodic table. It makes a great extension or as an end of the unit assessment for students to work on together.

FREE MATH LESSON - “Graphing Booklet”

by Brooke Beverly
1st - 5th Grade

Candy Graphing Booklet: Create a tally chart, pictograph, line plot, bar graph, horizontal bar graph, and answer questions based on frequency chart data about candy. There is a cover page too. The sample download will show you the cover page, horizontal bar graph, candy graph questions and the pictograph.

There are 8 pages to download. Run the graphs you want to practice through the copier with a double staple option on the left side. It will allow you to use a paper cutter and easily cut the graphs in half (5 1/2") to make 2 graph booklets. (It conserves paper this way!)
