FREE MISC. LESSON - “Keeping Our Class Family Safe”

by The Primary Techie
Pre-Kindergarten - 5th Grade

In September of 2014, a second grader in my town was murdered. This really made me think about my own students. I don't really know what they are going home to. Would they tell me if they felt unsafe? I wanted to talk to them in a way that was easy and lighthearted, but it felt like such a "yucky" talk. I wanted them to know I was there for them, but I didn't want to worry them or make them feel like I was accusing their families of anything. I just really wanted them to know I was there for them. I love to incorporate books into my lessons, but could not find a kid-friendly story that met my needs, so I wrote one. I wrote this story for all teachers who want to spread the message of safety to their students. It will be a forever freebie in my store. PLEASE tell everybody at your school. If this helps even ONE student, it is worth it. This story is written with a back-to-school theme, but can be used year-round. I have included three versions. There is a full color printable version, a PowerPoint (I love reading from my board!), and a black and white printable version.

*Custom clip art was donated for this project by Educlips!

This Shakespeare Log assignment is perfect for any play by the Bard that you happen to assign. Even better, it works for both in-class and out-of-class reading assignments, so it can be used to fit any of your needs. The only real requirement is that it should be used with one of Shakespeare’s wonderful tragedies, comedies, or histories. Of course, if you edit it for another purpose, that is fine, too!

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “*Freebie* Journal Rubric”

by victoria moore
Kindergarten - 1st Grade

This is just a short little freebie...Give your students immediate feedback with this little rubric. I staple it to their journal pages and fill it out and quickly discuss what they need to work on. It's also great because these will already be attached to their pages for parent conferences when you meet to discuss your students progress in writing.
Enjoy! I will be adding harder rubrics as the year progresses.

FREE MISC. LESSON - “Free Sequencing with Pictures Activity How to Make an Apple Pie Speech Therapy”

by Susan Berkowitz
2nd - 12th Grade

actions requires practice and critical thinking.
As often as possible, I have always tried to begin with concrete sequences or familiar routines so that students can “walk through” the process or watch you model it.
There is a link to a 4 minute video on YouTube for an easy apple pie demonstration to watch with the students in your class or speech therapy group.
On the next pages you will find 2 different sequences for making an apple pie.
One has only 4 steps.
The other has 10.
Choose what you need for your students.
This sequencing activity is also part of a larger resource for the book, How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World
