Your little turkeys will love this engaging CVC Words and Pictures phonics deck. Learners select the correct picture on the haystacks for the CVC Word on the turkey’s haystack. All of the answer choices on each card begin with the same sound so learners don't automatically know the correct answer after looking at the first letter. This paperless phonics resource works well for Thanksgiving, turkey, autumn/fall, or farm themes, but may also be used anytime during the year.

This turkey glyph for Thanksgiving time is an excellent activity for reading and following directions, and requires problem solving, communication, and data organization. Students color or put different items on a turkey based on information about themselves. Students are to finish the turkey glyph using the seven categories listed.

Students will examine ten groups of four items and determine into which general category they fit. Then, they will determine which item is different in some way from the other three and remove it. What remains will be a specific category that they will identify. You can use this exercise on one of the days before Thanksgiving.
