Pre-Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Many children are nervous to meet other kids on the first days of school. Playing large group games can help with this nervousness. In this game, children are asked questions that can be answered with a YES or a NO. Thumbs up and thumbs down posters are located on opposite ends of the classroom and students stand between the two signs. As questions are asked, they move to the side of the room with the poster that shows their answer. As they move, they learn that some kids are like them and some kids are different from them. At the conclusion of this game, kids are giggling and feeling comfortable with their new environment! A recording sheet is included where children draw a picture of themselves and a new friend. This is a great Back to School game! Hello there My Friends!
An editable page in which to write your own questions can be found at the end of this resource. This editable page will also print blank if you wish to hand write your own questions instead of type them.
