This fun get to know you activity gets students up and moving while still maintaining social distancing in the classroom. It can also be used during distance learning to give students a break from sitting.
Students show their answers to questions by doing specific movements. Then, they look around and view students who are doing the same movement as them. This helps them find students who have similar interests and get to know each other better while maintaining social distancing.
You receive 10 get to know you questions. Each question has 3 answer choices with a specific movement for each. Students do the movement that is next to their answer choice.
Once students are doing the movements, click the slide again to make the second set of instructions appear that reads "Look around and view who is like you!". Students then look to see who is doing the same movement and therefore has similar interests as them. You can also get to know your students better by viewing their movements.
The visuals beside each answer choice show students how to do the movements so learners of all levels can participate (even nonverbal students).
Perfect way to get students engaged during the first week of school! Also helps with following directions and focus - students have to think about their answer and the movement associated with it.
