This is a set of flashcards, by Sara Ipatenco, that includes beginning letter blends, ending letter blends, short vowels, long vowels, and the letters of the alphabet. You can use them just like you would any other flashcards, but I actually cut them out, laminate them, and play a fun game. The students sit in a circle. I give one student a flashcard and then I play music. As the music plays, the students pass the card around the circle. When I stop the music, the child holding the card has to give an example of a word that includes the letter blend or letter sound. For example, if the “sh” card is in play, a child might say “sheep” if he/she is holding the card. It’s a fun, hands-on way to practice phonics skills! Enjoy!
