FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Halloween AAC - Visual Supports for Trick-or-Treating”

by Kathy Babineau
Kindergarten - 8th Grade

Halloween is here! Halloween can be fun and challenging for our students with communication disorders. This Halloween AAC communication board set can be helpful for our students with speech and language difficulties. While I believe that kids should not be required to say "trick-or-treat" to receive a piece of candy, this Halloween AAC communication board set allows some help for kids who wish to communicate.

What do you get?

  • a communication board with 9 messages (in color and black/white format): Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat, Thank you!, happy, scary, more, candy, yes, no
  • a communication board with 3 messages (in color and black/white format): Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat, Thank you!
  • a simple coloring page

How to use this?

  • Simply print and laminate the pages you wish to use. Trick-or-treaters can point to pictures on the boards to communicate their messages. Be sure to provide models and acknowledge all communication.
