How many funny or silly Christmas trees have you seen left in the "for sale lot" ? No one wanted them! They were too fat, too skinny, too empty, or too crooked. Well, guess what? They were still full of the love and the spirit of Christmas! This lesson gives the children an opportunity to create their own " funny triangle tree" in the happiness of the holiday - growing that tree "any way they want", in their very own original way, and feeling good about it.
It is a good social lesson as well...helping children realize that not everything "good" is perfect! The different qualities in the appearance or personalities of other children are to be accepted. It helps them see the good in the world around them, and they learn that it comes in many shapes and sizes!
PROJECT OVERVIEW-PURPOSE: To provide the primary student with holiday related quiet independent seat work for small muscle development and exposure to creative pattern design. Also, helps the children realize that the special things come in all different kinds of "packaging". The project also provides the teacher with printables to be used when independent quiet seat work is needed. GREAT BULLETIN BOARD!
