FREE SCIENCE LESSON - “Animal Tracks Book Activity”

by Loreen Leedy
Pre-Kindergarten - 1st Grade

This free packet has animal tracks and several baby animals to draw, color, and/or label from Step by Step, my new nonfiction picture book for PreK to 1st graders. In the book readers see a set of tracks, guess what animal may have made them, then turn the page to find out. Great extention activities for baby animal units, habitats, and other nature themes.

This packet includes:
puppy
duckling
fawn
sea turtle hatchling
rabbit kitten
penguin chick
armadillo pup
alligator hatchling
ostrich chick
elephant calf
baby

Additional animals are featured in the book; more facts about the animals are in the back matter. The publication date for Step by Step is May, 2018. The realistic illustrations and simple text makes it a great read-aloud and useful for very young readers. Please request it from your librarian. A board book is also available without back matter. Published by Holiday House.
