FREE MATH LESSON - “Complementary and Supplementary Angles Practice”

by Teaching from A-Z
7th - 12th Grade

This is a 5 page PDF document on complementary and supplementary angles for advanced 7th and 8th grade students and all 9-12 students. Many students have a hard time remembering the difference between complementary and supplementary angles; i.e. which one adds up to 90 degrees, etc. Included is an eye-catching poster can be added to your word wall so that they remember that just like in the alphabet C comes before S, 90 comes before 180 so complementary angles add up to 90 and supplementary to 180 degrees. Also included is a one page practice worksheet with answer key, a Bellringer consisting of two questions, and an Exit Slip.

I'd love to hear your feedback! Thank you!

FREE MISC. LESSON - “Social Skills Lesson: Birthday Party”

by Speech Paths
2nd - 5th Grade

This is an activity to help children understand appropriate social interactions at a birthday party. A cartoon scenario is presented that depicts children at a party. A short story orients students to the overall situation. Four sections follow, including: facial expressions and gestures, perspective taking, supporting friends, and respecting others. Students are guided to "put themselves in the shoes" of characters and fill in the thoughts bubbles of each. The black and white cartoon can then be individually colored.

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Visual to Expand Sentences for Speech Therapy”

by Amy Haselden
Pre-Kindergarten - 4th Grade

I use this carrier phrase to assist children who have difficulty creating a sentence that contains adjectives. This visual aid helps students progress from a short sentence such as “I see a dog” to “I see a large dog that is brown” causing their expressive language to expand. I place the visual cue in a clear page protector and put it in the student’s speech folder. When we review picture cards or Boardmaker symbols they may be working on, the student follows each word with his or her finger and uses the picture symbols as cues to add the size and color to the sentence. This activity has been very successful and this card can be faded out eventually. Enjoy!! Please leave feedback!!

FREE MATH LESSON - “5.OA.1 Order of Operations Notes”

by Ciano's Classroom Creations
5th Grade

I've noticed over the years that students tend to have a difficult time keeping detailed, organized notes for math. It was alarming more so this year with the group that I had. We, as teachers, know how important an organized notebook is, even more so now that we have Common Core. I also noticed my students spent so much class time copying the steps to solve each problem and realized that I needed to do something to remedy this so that they would have more time to practice the new problems/strategies I was teaching them.

That is when the thought of creating CCSS aligned notes for math came from.

This FREEBIE has student friendly notes and steps for solving 5.OA.1, order of operations. This 4 page document can be printed single or double sided and is a great resource for your students to place into their math notebooks or for you to keep a master binder of the CCSS strategies that your students can look back at as needed.

One license is intended for unlimited use for one classroom teacher. Please consider leaving feedback as well. Click the GREEN STAR to begin following my store! Please consider following Ciano's Classroom Creations Facebook Page. Thank you again for your purchase, may this product be just what you were looking for! :)
