A great short story like "Eleven" by Sandra Cisneros deserves an equally great pairing; that's why I've created this no-prep lesson plan that pairs Cisneros' text with Pixar's Inside Out. Or, if you prefer, you can use the second (free) lesson plan to teach a point-of-view primer based on "Eleven" and supported by two great videos from TED-Ed and PBS. You can't go wrong with either of these no-prep lesson plans or sub plans.
This freebie includes two no-prep lesson plans for you to choose from: a paired reading with a clip from Inside Out or a close reading with a focus on POV. The strategies presented are engaging and adaptable. There's no prep work required. And either lesson would make a great emergency sub plan.
If you'd like, you can view the expanded versions of these plans on my blog. And you can find more free lesson plans at my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
