FREE MISC. LESSON - “Coping strategies visuals printable coping skills toolbox for self regulation”

This social emotional learning activity helps you help them start identifying what works for them to cope with unpleasant emotions. This way you can put the right things in your calm down corner!

Since not every coping strategy will work for every kid, it's important to allow them to figure out which ones are going to help (and identify what won't).

You can use this kit in a number of ways:

  • Simply have the child circle activities that he/she finds calming or comforting: "When I'm upset, doing these things helps me feel better".
  • OR, have them cut out the pictures of activities that are helpful and paste them on to their own creation "My calm place" page just the way they would want it (last page in packet).

Combine this with other self-regulation activities such as:
