Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
The story The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is a great story to use in a primary classroom. I use this story in my classroom and created 2 sets of comprehension questions to check for understanding (2 pages for each set).
The first set is designed for grades 1-2 (responding by writing a sentence or a list). This set could be used for above level students in kdg.
The second set is designed for kdg. (teacher reads questions aloud). It can also be used to differentiate in a 1-2 classroom. Students will respond by drawing and/or labeling.
Update: I have added a 3rd set of questions that have additional lines for responses (same questions as set one). This set could be used for higher performing students who are responding with longer sentences.
I hope this FREE set will be useful in your classroom.
Other differentiated comprehension questions are available for various picture books in the Language Arts category of my TPT store.
