First of all, the kids love it! Secondly the math is better. The Doubles game displays only even numbers... driving home the idea that "If you can double 11, then 12 doubled is the next even number!
These recording sheets were designed as graphic organizers for Grades 2-5. (I will try with first graders this spring too.) While I do not believe in timed testing for fact fluency.. this game lets me help learners choose a REASONABLE target for the minute. Then they can keep track and try to make it. Privately.
