FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “A Free Christmas Collaborative Writing Activity”

by Versatile Teacher Toolkit ESL and ELA Resources
8th - 12th Grade

Are you looking for a fun, but rigorous Christmas-themed activity for your secondary learners? Use this collaborative writing activity on the last week before Christmas to practise writing skills and to promote kindness. Students will watch a short animated film about kindness and will discuss their ideas. Then, they form small groups and will write an essay in response to the writing prompt provided in the Power Point presentation. This resource has been designed for advanced ESL learners and bigger class sizes where space is limited, so students sit in rows/columns instead of small groups (clusters). However, the activity may be completed in small teams, as well.
▶️Duration: You should plan at least three or four classes for this activity.
✐Materials needed: Power Point presentation included in the zip file, writing sheets provided in the downloaded file, projector or SMART board.
