Comparing and contrasting using the ABC approach helps older language therapy students to form paragraph style compare and contrast essays that they can feel proud of.
The ABC approach combines an easy to remember acronym with color coding, graphic organizers and scaffolding to produce a compare and contrast paragraph.
A is for Appearance ( size, shape, color)
B is for Basics ( category, function, location)
C is for Composition ( materials, parts)
The themed approach enhances carryover and reinforces timely, seasonal vocabulary. Three differentiated worksheets per theme can be used individually or as a unit. Color or B/W options are available for each page.
