This FREE mystery observation skills activity can be used as a fun part of a mystery unit. It is also a skills enhancing grades 5-8 resource in its own right, boosting observation skills, critical thinking and problem solving. A good detective doesn’t require forensic knowledge or technological expertise; scientists in labs and technology analysts take care of those aspects of police work. The skills that create a good detective- especially a good literary detective - are observation, listening, memory and analysis.
