FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Which Season Is It? Reading & Writing Mini-Book”

This mini-book is a fun way to review the seasons. Students will enjoy guessing which season is being described. Then they get to write about their favorite season and explain why they like it. Connecting personally with the subject makes for powerful learning.

This mini-book can be used during any season. Copy the pages and cut them in half along the lines. Then staple the pages together to make the mini-book. This download contains 4 pages plus the cover. The cover can be cut apart and laminated if you need to use it as a resource.

The answers to the mini-book pages are winter, spring, summer, fall. I purposely did not mix them up so that the students would get used to learning them in the correct order.

FREE MATH LESSON - “Catch That Bug!”

There are 2 "different" games----each with 2 versions using the 120 chart. Both use dice to "move" through the chart. The first one will use 1 die and the kids will add 10 to the number. A second version of this has "roadblocks" along the way for kids to go back or forward more.

The second game uses 2 dice and students will add the numbers together. A second version to this has the same "roadblocks" as above.

They go perfectly with my Catching Common Core Bugs Math games!

I wrote it when teaching about the phases as a fun way for the students to remember the moon phase information. The poem is part of my Moon Phase packet which is developmentally appropriate for grades K-5 however it may meet the needs of upper grades as a foundational start or review of an astronomy unit. The packet contains many ways to teach about the phases along with Tier 1-3 vocabulary, worksheets and assessments.
