Each day is aligned to the Common Core Math Standards for Second Grade. The standards addressed are listed at the bottom of each page.
The days build upon each other and slowly increase in difficulty. These pages are meant to create a spiral with the Common Core Standards so that the standards are practiced repeatedly at increasing levels of difficulty. At the bottom of each page there is a daily reflection for Math. The students write one thing they learned in Math that day and draw a picture to show their learning. Learn and Practice Solving Multiplication Division Word Problems with Bar Models/Tape Diagrams

There are a total of 6 exercises in this Freebies.The exercises in these worksheets are based on

Q1 – Q2: Find the unknown group size or number of groups of equal groups

Q3 – Q4: Multiply or divide to solve multiplicative comparison word problems

Q5 – Q6: Solve multiplication and division 2 steps word problems; including comparison with difference or sum

A step-by-step approach is adopted to let students learn progressively. Students determine multiplication or division and write mathematical sentences with the help of given bar models/tape diagrams. Then, students fill in the missing numbers on diagrams and equation representations provided based on word problem.

Once students understood the concept, they are required to solve the problem by providing visual and equation representations in their working.

You can use these worksheets for students/children who need practice of multiplication division concept or as revision on solving word problems. Bar models/tape diagrams make it easier for them to understand the concept.
