Learning to make subjects and verbs agree in number is an important writing skill. Most of the time, writers can detect an error in subject/verb agreement because it sounds wrong. To those whose first language is not English, it may be more challenging to hear the errors. In this practice exercise, if students follow the first three steps from Charlene Tess’s Simple Steps to Sentence Sense grammar program, they can easily make the subject agree with the verb in number.
