FREE SOCIAL STUDIES LESSON - “You Decide: Loyalist, Neutral, or Revolutionary”

by Smart Apple
6th - 8th Grade

Great for teaching the American Revolution. Three short biographies for students to read and decided if the person may be for the revolution, supporting the British, or not sure. Students are asked to defend their choices and there may be varied opinions in the classroom. Students can work alone or in groups.

John Adams once said: “We were about one-third Tories, and one-third timid, and one-third true blue.” In other words, 1/3 of the population was in favor of the Revolution, 1/3 was opposed, and 1/3 was neutral.
